Hour of Code Week - December 9th
What is Hour of Code? The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org reaching millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming. Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. This grassroots campaign is supported by over 400 partners and 200,000 educators worldwide. |

Coding Opportunity to share with families of kids 7-14, some experience with Scratch required. Code Ninjas of South Brunswick is hosting a Coding Hackathon on December 14th. In the Holiday Hackathon, they are challenging ninjas to bring their coding chops and creativity to develop their own video game for a chance to win fantastic prizes! Learn more here. |

GLOBAL READ ALOUD 2019 - That's a Wrap!
Did you know that 4 million students from more than 86 different countries participated in the Global Read Aloud? The 10th annual project took place worldwide from September 30th through November 8th and during that time, participating classrooms read aloud one of the GRA 2019 Book Selections and made connections with students from other classroom(s) somewhere else in the world to exchange ideas and perspectives about the book.
