Social Learning / Community / Websites / Blogs
Social MediaMany teachers use Twitter and Instagram to share daily activities that give a snapshot of what is happening in the class. At the same time, connect with authors, scientists, astronauts & more. Partner with classrooms from around the world to collaborate on projects. Students can learn about different cultural backgrounds to gain new perspectives. Class Twitter accounts are mostly public, while Class Instagram pages are both public and private.

Create a classroom website / Blog
LOTS of educators are creating Weeblys or Google Sites for their class and use them in a variety of different ways, like posting daily homework and project info, resources for parents, math and/or reading & writing strategies, sharing class photos in a gallery & much more.
- Google Sites - Create & maintain a free website directly in your Google Drive. Go here for Google Sites How to Booklet.
- Weebly - Create a website and/or blog for free.
- Seesaw - Acts primarily as a learning management app for assessment and building individual student portfolios, but has a great blog feature built-in and you can invite and connect with families.
- Google Classroom Guardian - Invite families to receive email summaries of class assignments, due dates, missing work, etc.
- Kidblog.org - subscription based app to create a great website and blog for your class.
Create online community
Use Flipgrid or Padlet to spark discussion based on a theme, question or prompt.
